Most students frustrated by their grades believe their minds are containers. They depend on the teacher to pour facts, formulas, etc., into their heads. What’s more, these students expect the teacher to process that knowledge for them in class, much like what happened in grade school. Not anymore.

In college, the teacher uses class time to present and explain and to answer questions. Learning is the student’s responsibility.
